Jesus told us that we would be hated. He didn’t tell us that so we would be expecting to be hated, He told us that so we would expect to not give up when they do.

the powerful conclusion of our time at National Convention. the powerful beginning of the rest of our lives.
God’s quarrel with men is that they will not do even that part of the will of God which they understand and could do if they would.

Since first Thy word awaked my heart,
Like new life dawning o’er me,
Where’er I turn my eyes, Thou art,
All light and love before me.
Nought else I feel, or hear, or see -
All bonds of earth I sever -
Thee, oh God, and only Thee,
I live for, now and ever.Like him, whose fetters dropped away,
When light shone o’er his prison,
My spirit, touched by Mercy’s ray,
Hath from her chains arisen.
And shall a soul Thou bid’st be free
Return to bondage? - never!
Thee, oh God, and only Thee,
I live for, now and ever.

Oh teach me to love Thee, to feel what thou art,
Till, filled with the one sacred image, my heart,
Shall all other passions disown -
Like some pure temple that shines apart,
Reserved for Thy worship alone.
~Thomas Moore
What, as a friend recently asked me, would you want people to say about you at your funeral? That last question (in many forms) has become a cliché. But should it be? I believe that we as a culture have become unacceptably earth minded. As if life ends here. You can only take one thing to Heaven with you, and that’s souls. Are you going to hoard the gospel to yourself? How many people are you going to take to Heaven with you?
